Arrested at UCLA’s
Violent, Pro-Hamas Riots

A total of 249 individuals were arrested during the violent pro-Hamas riots that broke out at the illegal encampment on the UCLA campus in May 2024.

Ananya J Visweswaran is a now graduated radical UCLA undergrad student activist, is a repeat offender arrested twice by UCLA Police for aggressively pushing the pro-Hamas agenda through illegal means. She was charged with Remain At Scene Of Riot/Etc (California Penal Code § 409) on May 2, 2024, at 2:00 AM at Dickson Plaza during the encampment raid—and again on May 6, 2024, for Conspiracy: Commit Crime as she stubbornly persisted in the follow-up unlawful rallies.

She is currently enrolled as a pHD student at UC Berkeley.

According to police reports from the day of the riots, incidents included assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, grand theft, unlawful use of tear gas, vehicle theft, and making criminal threats with intent to terrorize, among other offenses.

The encampment left behind a trail of crude vandalism, including the defacement of fountains, spray-painted walkways, tampering with fire safety systems, destruction of campus furniture, stripping electrical equipment for wire, and the wrecking of parked vehicles.

Additionally, at least six University of California Police Department personnel and other safety officers were injured during confrontations with protesters. One person sustained a head injury, according to Campus Safety Officer, Rick Braziel.
